At the request of those who could not attend the tutorials programme offered at the recent AustLII conference, we are running more tutorials on legal research on the web and on building legal web sites. These tutorials are held at the Faculty of Law, University of Technology, Sydney. Please check the following table for details.

Legal Research on the Web

This half day (3 1/2 hour) Tutorial provides a moderately advanced approach to legal research using the internet, with an emphasis on legal research resources available via AustLII.

The content of the Tutorial includes:

AustLII has recently introduced a new interface to both its Australasian databases and its World Law/Project DIAL facility. The Tutorial will be valuable both for those who have limited experience in internet legal research and for more experienced users who wish to become familiar with AustLII's new interface and features.

The Tutorial will be conducted by AustLII staff members.

An Introduction to Building a Web Site for Law

This half day (3 1/2 hour) Tutorial is designed to cater for those who have relatively little experience (or none) in developing web pages, but does contain a considerable amount of content for those with more experience with web page construction who wish to know more about law-specific features. Some familiarity with browsing and searching the web is assumed.

The content of the Tutorial includes:

An online and print set of tutorial papers will be used, and attendees will be able to use these resources to develop their skills after completion of the Tutorial.

For the duration of the tutorial, attendees are provided with web publishing space on one of AustLII's servers.

The Tutorial will be conducted by AustLII staff members.
